SSOCC's Sandpiper program, located at Manoah Steves Elementary in Richmond (Steveston) is looking for an Assistant Manager or Manager to open this new After School Care Program. We currently operate a 3-5 year old junior kindergarten at this location, and the School-Aged program will be the second classroom operating at Manoah Steves Elementary.
Hours:
The position will work the following hours:
Monday - Friday: 2:30 - 7:00 (on-the-floor hours)
Administration hours: Calculated at 30 minutes a week per registered child, to be worked on-site prior to 2:30
Daycamp: Professional-Development Days (1xmonth) Winter break, Spring break, Summer break hours: 8:00 - 4:30 (30 minutes break)
Typical work week will range from 30 - 40 hours per week, depending on number of children registered and depending on if it is a school day or a daycamp day.

Additional Qualifications:
-Valid first aid certificate
-Must successful pass a criminal record check
-Must be legally able to work full time in Canada

For the Manager position:
- proven experience working within a school-aged care program (at least 1 year)
- experience being the manager-on-license at a licensed child care program (preferably in BC, but anywhere in Canada would be accepted)
- strong organizational skills
- excellent communication skills
- excellent written and spoken English
For the Assistant Manager position:
We are willing to consider someone with less experience to work as an Assistant Manager for up to 12 months, with the expectation that the year would provide enough experience to then move into the Manager position.

Salary & Benefits:
Compensation:
24.00 - 25.50 / hour, depending on years of experience.
(Wage Enhancement paid in addition for successful candidates who hold their valid ECE certificate)
1.00 - 2.00 / hour (for post-probation hours only) annual bonus, paid in August annually, with amount based on performance ratings.
