Series: Learning with the Environment
Children and Educators benefit from being outdoors in the fresh air. If educators are comfortable and relaxed outdoors, they can be engaged with children and share the pleasure of watching the first snow or taste the rain.

Details:
Children and Educators benefit from being outdoors in the fresh air. Listening to birds, feeling the sun, and watching the clouds can provide moments of joy for educators and children. Outdoors children can connect with natural materials, run in the open air, and move more freely. If educators are comfortable and relaxed outdoors, they can engage with children and share the pleasure of watching the first snow or taste the rain. We must plan and organize our spaces, ourselves and our mindsets to pay attention to moments of joy. This takes knowledge, planning and reflecting with co-workers. Finding moments of joy and pleasure can sustain us in our work.
