Reporting to the Manager, the Program Supervisor provides direct supervision to the children and staff. The position is accountable for ensuring all day-to-day operations are met including operating within licensing and legal requirements, scheduling of staff, maintaining full enrollment, monitoring budgets, providing quality programming and leading a staff team. This position is expected to start on February 23th 2026 and last until the return of the incumbent, expected January 2027.
Administration
- Responsible for the daily functioning of the program following Center goals, Policies and Procedures, Health and Safety Standards and Licensing requirements.
- Maintain the health & safety of children and equipment.
- Support the work and direction of McGregor as directed by the Board and Management.
- Prepare monthly board written report and attend and participate in Board meetings.
- Maintain full enrolment of the center and coordinate in-center transfers from the Infant/Toddler program and 3-5 Centre and schedule and conduct parent orientations.
- Keep children’s files and information up-to-date, accurate and in order.
- Secure supplies, food and equipment as necessary for the center within established budget.
- Completion of other related duties as assigned by the Manager.
- Coordinate practicum and volunteer placements.
Supervision of Employees
- Responsible to the Manager for the good performance and relations of the program staff, assistants, practicum students, volunteers, substitutes and students in the program.
- Maintain and role model a respectful workplace environment.
- Advise and monitor all staff in the day-to-day and long-term objectives of the program.
- Prepare agendas and lead staff meetings and record minutes.
- Attend and participate in the hiring committee.
- Coach, direct and evaluate staff, volunteers, practicum students and substitutes.
- Responsible for the scheduling of staff and substitutes and maintain required staff/child ratio.
- Work cooperatively as a member of a team and discuss and address concerns relating to the staff, parents or children, as they arise.
Planning and Implementation
- Liaison with Special Needs Worker, Supervisors, Manager and other stakeholders regarding activities involving the program.
- Work with staff on the implementation and maintenance of child development plans.
Program Development
- Develop, direct and supervise the daily program and activities for the children both in an integrated group and one/one setting.
- Organize and coordinate outings that further the goals and philosophies of learning for the children within established budgets.
- Work directly with the children.
Qualifications:
Basic ECE
Additional Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Educator License to Practice
- Current First Aid certificate
- Consent to Criminal Record Check
- Ability to multi-task and reassess priorities throughout the day.
- Statement from medical practitioner indicating good physical and psychological ability to work with children
- Proof of immunization and tuberculosis vaccinations
- Positive team player; flexible, punctual, reliable with good communication skills

Salary & Benefits:
Salery range $25.38 - $27.24. Plus Early Childhood Wage Enhancement where applicable.
20 Vacatin days to start.
