Do you enjoy working independently and taking ownership over your program? This is the opportunity you have been waiting for.
SSOCC Sandpiper Before and After School Care is looking for a permanent program manager. The program is currently in a shared classroom in the school (Manoah Steves Elementary) but will be moving into our child-care modular building and sharing the space with our Junior Kindergarten program as of March 1. The program is newly opened this year and is a wonderful opportunity for someone looking to build a Reggio-inspired after school care program.
Location: Manoah Steves Elementary in Steveston (Richmond)
Start date: February 1.
Qualifications:
Other: ECEA or ECE preferred but not required

- familiar with Reggio-inspired practice
- comfortable collecting documentation on a child’s work to share with parents daily
- understand the benefits of social emotional learning. Applications with training in the RULER approach, MindUp or Tools of the Mind will be prioritized
- Legally able to work in Canada
- Excellent at building relationships with parents and families.
- Highly organized, take initiative
- Familiar with the BCELF

Required Experience:
-proven experience working as an educator in a Reggio-inspired program
-experience with being a manager-on-license is an asset
-ECEA/ECE is an asset but is not required
-experience working with school-aged children
Salary & Benefits:
Benefits: if working 30 hours a week during spring+ (on average), you are eligible for extended medical and dental (you pay 50%, employer pays 50%), 9 sick days per year, and 4 weeks vacation annually (not to be taken during daycamps).
Compensation: 24.00 - 25.50 depending on years of experience in a licensed school aged care facility and experience of being a manager-on-license in a licensed child care program.
If you hold a valid ECE, this position is additionally eligible for Wage enhancement.
Additional Information:
Hours: 2:30 - 6:00, Monday - Friday, plus administration hours (calculated at 15 minutes per week per registered child - currently 10 children are registered). Additional hours available in our junior kindergarten program, if required, for candidates who hold their ECEA or ECE. Hours during professional days / winter/spring/summer daycamps are 8:00 - 4:00.
